The Capistrano Center for the Performing
Arts (CCPA) is the new name for the South
Orange County Community Theatre (our
non-profit organization's official title).
The Capistrano Center For The Performing
Arts is controlled by a board made up of a
select group of theatre patrons and
professionals dedicated to the future of
live community theatre in South Orange
County. Board members are actively engaged
in the operation of the theatre as well as
its divisions and truly constitute a working
board. Our goal is to also have our board of
directors represent a wide cross-section of
the South Orange County community.
Duties of
the Board Members include fundraising,
staffing, management, accounting, and public
relations. Additional duties such as
managing ticket sales, marketing,
advertising, and educational enrichment
programs are delegated by our bylaws to the
divisions of the CCPA that you will see
emblazoned throughout this CCPA's website.
Those divisions currently include the Camino
Real Playhouse, The Capistrano Acting
Academy (CAA), and the Capistrano
Shakespeare Festival (CapoShakes).
Should you have any questions about the CCPA or any of its theatre divisions or should you wish to offer your financial or actual support for the many things that we do ... please gently grab a board member the next time you attend a production at the Camino Real Playhouse or around the town of San Juan Capistrano and ask them "What's the latest on the Building Program" ... and tell them how you want to get involved. We are currently looking to enhance our working board with Ad Hoc Board Members representing local businesses and those that can help us move our efforts to the next level. These Ad Hoc Board Members will not be required to pain sets, manage concessions, or cook chili ... but they will be required to promote the need for a performing arts program in South Orange County. If you are in a position of authority in the South Orange County area or know someone that you think would make a perfect Steering or Advisory Board Member ... Please email Gary McCarver (gary@garymccarver.com) or Tom Scott (tom_scott@cox.net) today. We are also in a deliberate search for an effective fundraising company or professional that would be willing to work with us on a Pro Bono basis. We have tried hiring people in the past with meager results ... however volunteers that have shared our vision have made a huge difference. We could just use more of them.
When you notice the newly upholstered and painted seats in our theater and the new carpet throughout the playhouse, or the newly renovated main stage or the new landscaping in the front of our theatre ... you'll quickly realize that something great is happening in San Juan Capistrano. Those changes have come from the financial and physical efforts of people just like you ... call or email today if you want to be a part of the fun.
If you have a question or suggestion please feel free to email any board member today
